Dunes Air
Dunes Air arrived at a pivotal inflection point. Formerly Bermuda Dunes Airport, this historic Palm Desert landmark was undergoing a massive physical renovation under new ownership. The mission was clear: pivot from a functional airfield to an aspirational destination. August was tapped to lead the evolution, creating a brand that captures a "Jetsons-meets-Mid-Century-Modern" aesthetic while delivering a high-touch service model for the world’s most discerning travelers.
Our strategy was rooted in the heritage of the Coachella Valley—blending the desert’s iconic architectural optimism with the precision of modern aviation. We treated the airport not as a utility, but as a luxury hospitality brand. By focusing on "Elevated Ease," we ensured every touchpoint—from the digital interface to the physical terminal signage—felt cohesive, premium, and unmistakably tied to the golden age of desert travel.
Logo & Visual Identity
We took a thoughtful approach to the Dunes Air mark, drawing inspiration from the geometric lines and sun-drenched palettes of 1960s Palm Springs. The new identity is a balance of heritage and aerodynamic precision. We paired a modernized wordmark with a sophisticated, warm color system and a flexible typography hierarchy. The result is a visual language that feels both nostalgic and unmistakably future-forward.

Brand Strategy
To position Dunes Air as the "North Star" of desert aviation, we defined a strategic framework centered on "Modern Desert Cool." We developed a confident, intelligent tone of voice designed to resonate with elite travelers and professional flight crews alike. This strategy serves as the anchor for all communications, ensuring the brand speaks with one polished, authoritative voice that makes high-end travel feel approachable and effortless.

The Built Experience
In aviation, the brand is defined by the physical journey. We translated the identity into a comprehensive language for the renovated terminal and grounds. Following a rigorous audit, we designed a hierarchy of exterior building identities, gate markers, and interior wayfinding. The system prioritizes intuitive movement, ensuring the transition from the tarmac to the lounge is as seamless as the flight itself.

Website & Digital Hub
Built on Webflow, the new Dunes Air digital experience functions as a high-performance marketing tool and a streamlined operational resource. We simplified complex travel and hangar data through intuitive design, creating a "digital front door" that mirrors the physical feeling of landing in Palm Desert: open, airy, and premium.
Premium UI
The visual language leans into expansive art direction. Generous imagery, breathing room, and thoughtful typography to evoke a sense of space and luxury befitting the brand. That aesthetic ambition is balanced with a clean, modular layout system, allowing components to be reused and rearranged efficiently while keeping performance tight and the experience polished across desktop, tablet, and mobile.

Clarity at Scale
The site's navigation model was built to serve distinct personas at once. From travelers looking for amenities and comfort details to pilots who need quick access to technical and operational data. Rather than forcing a one-size-fits-all structure, the information architecture branches intelligently so each user lands on relevant content fast, reducing friction and making the experience feel tailored regardless of who's visiting or why.

Dynamic Management
Behind the scenes, a custom-built CMS gives the team full control over hangar listings, charter availability, and related content, allowing updates to go live in real-time without waiting on developer support. This flexibility means the business can respond quickly to changing inventory or offerings, all while a structured system of templates and style rules ensures every update stays consistent with the established brand identity.
